Curtain Project

AUCA Theatre Curtain Design. The idea was to invite artists and artisans from Central Asia to combine elements of national culture, traditional techniques, and materials with the modern high-tech style and superior high-end technologies used in the building.

The main themes were: collaboration, teamwork, stitching together, mirroring and reflection, dualities (light and dark, intimacy and grandeur, mountains and valleys). Design could also include abstract patterns, traditional ornaments, elements of stitches, bold, graphic or large-scale images.

HMA2 collaborates with Meder Akhmetov, an artist and architect, as an author of the idea and Aidai Asangulova, felt designer, as co-producer of the art piece.
